Before you do anything else
When CDIA first starts, enter this email address: the one you used to start your trial or subscription on this website.
Use the same email address you registered. CDIA checks it online against your licence; if you have not started a trial yet, activation will not succeed.

Install
- Open CDIA_Setup.exe from your Downloads folder.
- If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info, confirm the publisher is CDIA Technologies Limited, then click Run anyway.
- Follow the installer. No administrator account is needed.
- Start CDIA from the Start Menu and enter your licence email. First activation can take up to about 90 seconds.
Your first ten minutes
- Choose your AI. CDIA asks whether to use Cloud AI or Private AI. Cloud AI gives the strongest results and sets up in minutes with your own provider key; CDIA guides you through creating one. Private AI keeps everything on your machine and needs a one-time model download of several gigabytes. You can change your mind later in Tools > AI Settings.
- Load the example project. On the welcome screen, choose Load Example Project. It is a small, ready-prepared demonstration matter.
- Ask a question. Type it the way you would ask a colleague, then click Ask.
- Review the evidence. CDIA pauses and shows you what it found: records, report extracts, contract clauses. Click Continue.
- Click a citation. The source document opens beside the answer, at the cited page where CDIA holds one.
- Try Draft or Advice. Open the Draft tab and ask for a factual background from the evidence, or open Advice for labelled analysis.
Then create a project of your own, add your records, reports and contract, and choose Prepare Project.

If something does not work
- Activation fails. Check the internet connection and that you entered the email address you registered on this website. Wait for the progress message to finish; first activation can take up to about 90 seconds.
- AI not ready. Open Tools > AI Settings. For Cloud AI, run Set up Cloud AI and Test Connection. For Private AI, the setup offers the runtime download and Try Again.
- Anything else. Email contact@cdia.co.uk. Help > Support & Contact in CDIA has a Copy Diagnostics button that copies what we need.
